Exact Digital receive artwork from customers on discs and via F.T.P. each and every day. The majority of files are good to go, however, occasionalyl, we receive files which do not print as intended and the results are not what you, the customer expected.

Here, we've assembled a design & print tool-kit to help customers work through the stages of designing and setting up your files for print.

Creating Files for Print.

Establishing an intent for artwork, considering the audience and destination, before beginning a project makes it easier to repurpose artwork later. Use New Document Profile settings to define size, artboards, bleed, and color mode for the document.

Preparing for Print with In-Design

Creating artwork for print has come along way with InDesign. You need to check for many things before printing, like missing fonts, resolution even specific spot colors. We take a good close look at the Live Preflight in InDesign CS4, it will do all of the heavy lifting for you if set up correctly.

Page Sizes

Many paper size standards and conventions have existed at different times and in different countries, but today there is one widespread international ISO standard (including A4, B3, C4, etc.), versus a localised standard used in North America (with: letter, legal, ledger, etc.). The paper sizes affect writing paper, stationery, cards, or some printed documents. The standards also have related sizes for the envelopes used.
